Creating a synesthetic experience between Art & Words
Welcome to my studio. I experience creativity as a deep, lively and sensual act. When the muse demands attention I become witness to her flow on the canvas and page. This is where I am currently translating the experience of life.
I paint for presence and listening. This work is a practise in surrender, non-attachment to outcome and letting go. Each painting is initiated as an act of art and a channel to the wisdom that presence offers. This is meditation, trance, a dance and the absence of thought. I paint to hear the poetry that whispers as the muse guides creation.
I hope your eyes are met with beauty and your system with calm in the presence of my work.

Texture
Texture, colour & metallic ... the tools I use to make real what I feel! Having this place to land is a lifeline. Creating when I’m happy, bewildered, exhausted, inspired, angry, sensual, confused, ecstatic, frenzied and calm. Always listening, learning and adapting to the muse.
Layers
I always start not quite knowing the outcome yet trusting the process. Along the way I fall in and out of love with the different versions of what appears. Sometimes I stop and settle. Other times I listen more deeply to the story wanting to be told. I may tear it all down, white it out and start over. When I am wise I hone the skill, tune the listening and be with all the layers that show up.
Nature
Home decor can be a homage to the beauty we find in nature. My work is full of the colours and scenes from the landscape that surrounds me. I am able to feel a season in the depth of a painting. There is this way I can be soothed by the image of the ocean and remember my toes in the sand. I can feel the winter cold in a greyscale and recall the smell of snow and campfire. There is voyeuristic pleasure in witnessing another’s reaction to the work.
Sensual
If I told you how arousing the creative process can be you’d blush. There is this way I’m lost and found by the same unnerving force. The muse chains me to her friction with a brush. She asks me to surrender to an impulse until we are both drenched in shades and hues. She’s sensual and deliberate in every stroke. I’m always left exhausted, sore and completely satisfied. See I told you I could make you blush.
