My process…
Painting is a sensual experience of play, honesty and trust that meets the edges of pleasure. My brush, the canvas, colour, music and the muse meet for a grand event of alchemy. Creativity is a relationship that conjures the temptation of a lover, the commitment of a marriage and the tenderness of parenting. I have come to many deep and wise knowings while honing this craft. I will forever be the student of depth, colour, texture, moisture and process. The more studied undertaking this work offers is to be with myself. To lean into the non-attachment of where the work wants to go. To be witness to the critic within and the critique from the world not allowing either to become a permanent resident in the work. This is my place to go when words are too exhausting to speak and feelings are too intense to feel. This is the space where I etch the hard won realm of resiliency. This affair I am having has my attention for now. How long will it last? We shall see…
